How To Remove Wireless Update App From Android Phone

  1. s_maria_6's Avatar

So for the past few weeks I was getting push button notifications very frequently about a wireless update and I kept ignoring it considering information technology looked dodgy. Yesterday I accidentally pressed "install" rather than "ignore" and so I was wondering if there was any style to revert back to my quondam version. Any advice is much appreciated and my phone is a Kogan Agora 6+ if that helps

Welcome to Android Central! Did you lot ever go to the System Update section in the system settings to see if information technology was a legitimate update being pushed by the manufacturer? If this was a truthful arrangement update, you typically can't roll those dorsum unless you root the device an reinstall the previous firmware.

    Hullo, cheers for your reply!

No, I assumed that information technology was a dodgy imitation update so I never pressed install on purpose. It was accidental and so at that place's a hazard that I've just let malware onto my device...

At the same time, someone from the Kogan team replied to a query virtually updates with "You should have received a push notification for the update, withal, if this is non the case, you tin can perform the update by entering the 'Settings' > 'Near Device' > 'Wireless Update' and following the prompts." I received the push notification from this "Wireless Update" app(?) and not from Chrome or whatever of my browsers. Does this change anything?

Okay, so then as you said, I could potentially "root the device an reinstall the previous firmware". I've been searching online for any previous Kogan Agora 6+ updates but couldn't find anything that looked legitimate. The Kogan website doesn't seem to have annihilation either. Is there a specific way to find previous firmware to reinstall? Thanks, Maria
